Fox’s Chris Stirewalt: Democrats Need More to Their Opposition Than Just Hating Trump

Right now the defining stance for the Democratic party is just being anti-Trump. And while there are certainly benefits to that approach, Fox’s Chris Stirewalt said today that can’t be all there is to it.

As the #OneLuckyGuy on Outnumbered, Stirewalt and the four hosts tackled Democratic resistance to Trump and Nancy Pelosi calling Steve Bannon a white supremacist yesterday.

Pelosi also said that the Trump administration is good at distracting people from important issues. Stirewalt said that’s basically what all politicians do––deflect and distract when unfavorable news is hounding them.”

And then he diagnosed the issue the opposition has:

“The Democrats have a serious problem here… The only thing they know is they hate Donald Trump and wish he wasn’t president. That is the only thing they know for sure. They’ve got to start being specific in their opposition.”

He cited the pushback around the refugee ban as an example.
