Following White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s Fox & Friends’ interview this morning where she urged viewers to “go buy Ivanka’s stuff” in the aftermath of Nordstrom dropping Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand, there has been a lot of conversation over whether Conway crossed a legal and ethical line.
During Fox News’ Happening Now, anchor Jenna Lee brought on Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace to discuss the situation. Bringing up the fact that “Clinton Cash” author Peter Schweitzer harshly criticized the actions of Conway, Lee asked Wallace if this was a distraction or something more.
Wallace noted that he wasn’t sure about the legality of it, but just the idea of Conway “shilling for Ivanka Trump and saying go buy her products” was the thing that many were worried about with this White House.
Adding that this is a “classic case of blurring the lines between public and private,” he explained that “it certainly seems wrong and inappropriate for her to be doing that.”
