Fox’s Roberts to WH Chief of Staff: Why Isn’t Obama Stopping ISIS’ ‘Thug with Knife and Camera’?
Fox News Sunday guest host John Roberts challenged White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough Sunday morning to explain how President Barack Obama had not stopped the man allegedly behind the multiple ISIS beheading videos.
Yesterday ISIS released a video purportedly showing British aid worker David Haines beheaded, the third such act after the beheadings of American freelance journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
“One thug with a knife and camera is basically now terrorizing two nations,” Roberts said. “With all the resources at the President’s disposal, and those of the United Kingdom as well, can you give the American people one reason why this guy is continuing to do this?”
“We’re obviously outraged at the behavior, and we’ve made clear our determination to make sure that we’re taking every step possible that we protect our people, and to make sure that the long arm of American justice finds and brings to justice those who would perpetrate such actions,” McDonough said.
“But that’s kind of a long goal,” Roberts said. “What can you do in the immediate to get this guy?”
“We do what we say and we say what we do,” McDonough replied.
