Fox’s Wallace: Sebelius’ Claim That Obamacare Site Had to Launch on Oct. 1st ‘Just Not True’

On Sunday morning, Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace highlighted Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ claim that HHS was unable to test the Affordable Care Act’s federal exchange website extensively, as the department was constrained by a legally-mandated October 1st launch date—a claim Wallace said wasn’t accurate.

“In an ideal world, there would have been a lot more testing,” Sebelius said in a video clip. “We did not have the luxury of that with a law that said it’s go-time on October 1st.”

“It turns out that is just not true,” Wallace said. “According to the law, the enrollment period shall be, quote, ‘determined by the Secretary.’ Nothing about October 1st. So she decided to go ahead with this plan of October 1st.”
