Fusion’s Alicia Menendez Takes Down Fox & Friends’ ‘Hilarious’ Gender Coverage

Facebook’s decision to add more than 50 gender options for its users drew reactions ranging to celebration to confusion and everything in between. One group that appeared to find the change particularly amusing was the hosts of Fox & Friends. On Tuesday night, Fusion’s Alicia Menendez explained what’s so wrong about their reaction.

“As we reported last week, Facebook now includes 50 new options for users’ gender,” Menendez said on her show AM Tonight. “And Fox News? They think it is hilarious.” The host then showed clips of Fox & Friends’ Elisabeth Hasselbeck and others joking about the change and wondering what “intersex” means.

“Fox News, do you not have producers?” Menendez asked before helping them out by Googling “intersex” and reading the definition aloud.

Fox & Friends… and enemies… you are totally right,” she concluded. “That is hilarious and not at all complicated or sensitive. I am so sorry that Facebook assaulted your male/female, socialist/patriot, illegal alien/noble pilgrim paradigms. Now let’s get back to the business or dog weddings and mocking other disenfranchised people shall we?”
