George Clooney was taken to the hospital after crashing his motorcycle into a car in Sardinia this week.
CNN reported on Tuesday morning that the Hollywood superstar was driving his bike on the Italian island when he ran head-on into a truck that turned into him.
John Avlon reported that Clooney “smashed the window with his head [and] was thrown 30-feet from the accident.” Italian news agencies said Clooney suffered a minor knee injury in the crash. The BBC reported the crash took place as Clooney was leaving his hotel in Costa Corallina, a beachside town in northern Sardinia.
“Italian news agency ANSA and local newspapers report the star was taken by ambulance to the A&E of the John Paul II hospital in Olbia,” the BBC reported.
Clooney is filming his upcoming TV show on the island, Catch-22, which he is directing and producing. The Hulu show, based on the Joseph Heller novel, will also star Hugh Laurie and Kyle Chandler.
A word of warning for Mediaite readers, courtesy of George Clooney: the next time you’re riding your Royal Enfield through the hills of northern Sardinia, be wary of errant Piaggio Apes.
