Geraldo: ‘Friend’ Donald Trump ‘Broke My Heart’ with Offensive Remarks
Geraldo Rivera was one of the contestants on last season of Celebrity Apprentice––coming in second overall to Leeza Gibbons––and he considers Trump to be a “friend.” But on Fox’s The Five today, he said he was frustrated with Trump’s comments about Mexican immigrant rapists that led to NBC cutting ties to him.
Eric Bolling stood up for Trump, calling NBC “fools” and asking why Al Sharpton continues to remain on MSNBC despite his past controversial remarks. Tom Shillue, meanwhile, dismissed Trump as unserious and in the business of “self-promotion.”
Rivera, however, said Trump “broke my heart” with his “hurtful” remarks. And in the Latino community, he noted, “I cannot overstate how this has been received so sourly, so badly, for so many people.”
He also pointed to tweets of his calling on Trump to apologize:
