Geraldo Rivera Emotionally Reunites with Daughter Caught in Middle of Paris Attacks
Geraldo Rivera documented his visit with his daughter Simone today, after she managed to escape the attack that set off the terrifying chain of events that ravaged Paris last weekend.
When the news first broke, Rivera appeared with Shepard Smith as he emotionally explained that his girl was watching the soccer match at Stade de France when it came under attack by suicide bombers. He later tweeted out confirmation that she was unharmed, and had her give her account on the show before promising to fly to France and get her.
Rivera showed the touching meeting on Fox & Friends, expressing relief to see her safe, as well as condolences and sorrow to those who were hurt. Rivera said Simone and others in her foreign exchange program are undergoing counciling, but said that the soul of France had been damaged by the attacks, and that it was a “colossal failure of intelligence,” that the terrorists on police record were not stopped sooner.
“We have to destroy ISIS in Syria and Iraq or this will be the future for our children and our children’s children,” Rivera said.
