Geraldo Rivera joined Bill O’Reilly Friday night to react to the news about Cory Booker getting in hot water for sending a Twitter DM to a stripper. Rivera told O’Reilly he had first thought that this issue was planted by Booker’s team in order to dispel the gay rumors surrounding the Newark mayor.
O’Reilly wondered why people aren’t more careful about who they interact with on Twitter. Rivera made this admission about his initial reaction to the Booker news.
“The first thing I thought of when I saw Cory Booker had been tweeting with a stripper, a vegan stripper in Portland, Oregon, I thought that Cory Booker’s campaign planted this because they wanted to dispel all the rumors that he was gay.”
He did qualify with the Seinfeldian “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
Rivera said it’s dangerous for anyone to get caught up in the digital world, because “before you know it, you get in trouble like Anthony Weiner did.” I mean, one minute you’re tweeting something innocuous and the next you’re sharing topless selfies.
