When the first signs that Russia was invading Ukraine started to appear late last week, conservatives began hailing Sarah Palin for predicting this development all the way back in 2008. The former governor even issued a “Told-Ya-So” on her Facebook page. Last night, Glenn Beck got in on the game, laughing at President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and anyone else who dared to discount Palin and Mitt Romney, who made similar warnings in 2012.
“What a dummy, right?” Beck said through hysterical laughter after showing a clip of Palin warning that Obama’s election would “embolden” Vladimir Putin. Things got even more hilarious when Beck moved on to Romney’s declaration that Russia is the United State’s primary “geopolitical foe.”
That comment drew “mocking” condemnations from Obama and Kerry, along with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. Banging his shoe on the table, Beck reveled in the vindication of Palin and Romney before turning more serious.
“There is no gloating in this today,” Beck insisted, saying that the political class “doesn’t give a rat’s ass” about what happens to the rest of the world.
