GOP Congressman: Why Is TSA Patting Down Grandma, Focus On ‘Guy In Arabian Dress’
Republican Congressman Paul Broun serves on the Homeland Security Committee and apparently attends the Juan Williams school of tell us your honest thoughts regarding what you feel when you see Arab-looking individuals in the airport. Broun is upset political correctness demands that we give grandma a pat down at the airport, but don’t do the same for anyone who looks like they might really want to harm America.
Broun explained his worry:
“I went through the security at an airport. I walked through – right behind me there was a grandmother – a little old lady, and she was was patted down. Right behind her was a little kid who was patted down. And then right behind him, there was a guy in Arabian dress who just walked right through. Why are we patting down grandma and kids? We need to focus on those people who want to harm us.”
Broun suggests that the Department of Homeland Security focuses too much on the general public and urges that “we’ve got to start focusing on those people who want to harm us as a nation.”
