GOP Convention Erupts Into Chaos as Delegates Shout, Chant for a Roll Call Vote

convention chaosSo remember earlier this afternoon when we reported that #NeverTrump delegates were trying to voice a roll call vote on the convention rules? Well, funny story.

The rules attempted a voice vote and concluded the ayes have it, and then chaos erupted.

Many delegates have been demanding that delegates should be able to vote their conscience if they truly find Donald Trump too unfit and horrible to be the GOP nominee.

There were immediate chants of “call the vote!” and “roll call vote!” over and over, joined by Ken Cuccinelli and Senator Mike Lee. Cuccinelli angrily threw his delegate card to the floor. Lee was amazed that the chair just stormed off the stage when the shouting started.

Oh, and the entirety of the Colorado and Iowa delegations stormed out in protest:

And just to cap things off, minutes later they redid the vote––as a voice vote again. And again, they concluded the ayes have it. The madness continued from there. The chair said the threshold for a roll call vote hasn’t been met.

Earlier reports said enough states had signed on to meet that threshold. Apparently, three states backed out after, presumably, being pressured.
