GOP Rep.: House Dems’ Sit-In Behavior Was ‘Beneath the Dignity’ of Congress
A Republican member of the House scolded her Democratic colleagues on CNN this afternoon for their behavior during their 25-hour-long sit-in.
Diane Black told Brooke Baldwin, “What was going on there is beneath the dignity of this institution.”
She said they violated so much of House decorum over eating and drinking on the floor, not to mention openly using their cell phones. Black called their behavior “unconscionable.”
Baldwin pointed out that Republicans attempted a similar tactic in 2008, but Black said that was different because they were in recess and “I don’t close down the House floor because I don’t get my way.”
She also got personal and recalled a disturbing experience that led her to want a gun on her in the first place.
