GOP Rep. Kinzinger: Trump Bashing Mueller’s Investigation After Cohen Raid is Not ‘Helpful At All’

Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) joined Alisyn Camerota on CNN Tuesday, and disagreed with President Trump‘s explosive reaction to the FBI’s raid on Michael Cohen.

Ever since federal agents seized records and documents from his personal attorney’s office, Trump has railed against the FBI’s investigations as a “witch hunt” and an “attack on our country.”

When Kinzinger spoke about the raid on New Day, he said that there must be a “reason” for the FBI’s movements, and he shied away when asked if it really was an “attack” on America.

“I don’t think it’s helpful at all,” Kinzinger said on Trump’s comments. “Whenever you tweet, there can be trouble, especially when it’s a tweet based out of kind of what’s going on at the moment, so I wish he didn’t. But at the same time, again, I think we’ll get ultimate answers when this is done.”

When Camerota pressed Kinzinger on whether he thought Mueller’s investigation is “an attack on our country,” the congressman replied simply, “No.”
