Eh… he’s a rookie. What can you expect?
Appearing on The Situation Room Thursday, King wrote off Scaramucci’s vulgar trashing of Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon as nothing he hasn’t heard before.
“It sounded like a lot of guys I’ve spoken to late at night,” King said. “After political meetings, a few guys get together and they start talking that way. Listen, it’s not the orthodox way to do it. It’s not the usual way to do it. But it’s the first week on the job. And we’ll see where this goes.”
King represents New York’s 2nd Congressional District, which covers the South Shore of Long Island. And apparently, King doesn’t think he’ll be in any sort of electoral peril for defending fellow Long Islander Scaramucci.
“I’ve spoken to any number of people in my district,” King said. “People who are, many of them are Trump supporters. Others are just sort of curious people. And they like the Scaramucci style. Now how long this can go, I don’t know. I don’t think anyone other than insiders including me, and I put myself in the category… cares what Anthony Scaramucci says about Reince Priebus or Steve Bannon.”
