Gosar Sibling Reacts to Rep’s Statement: ‘Paul Doesn’t Really Live in Prescott’
Speaking to CNN’s Ana Cabrera Saturday night, one of the Gosar siblings who came out in support of their brother’s opponent made it clear that she thinks she had good reason to not support her brother, Rep. Paul Gosar.
Jennifer Gosar started off by saying that her siblings were inspired to speak up for his opponent because “Paul’s political rhetoric in the last probably year and a half has gone from — to me — conservative into a place of hate and divisiveness.”
She added that Paul has been consumed by his work in recent years and they haven’t really talked to him about politics.
Cabrera then read Jennifer part of Rep. Gosar’s statement about his siblings. It read:
“Those of my siblings who chose to film ads against me are all liberal Democrats who hate President Trump. These disgruntled Hillary supporters are related by blood to me, but like leftists everywhere, they put political ideology before family. Lenin, Mao, and Kim Jong-un would be proud. Not one of my siblings lives in Arizona and my opponent’s policies are out of sync with what Arizona wants and the country needs.”
After Jennifer called it a “small statement,” talk turned to the fact Rep. Gosar pointed out that his siblings don’t live in Arizona.
Jennifer said this:
“Well, Paul doesn’t really live in Prescott, so you know, that’s if we’re going to talk details, he needs to be careful. His residence, his primary residence is in Flagstaff, and I would suggest to you that an apartment in Prescott does not mean residence. So in that way, the very false things that people claim are the very things they’re guilty of.”
Rep. Gosar represents Arizona’s 4th District which includes Prescott. Flagstaff is in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District.
