Governor Rick Perry spoke with Neil Cavuto this afternoon about his successes in Texas and to confirm that he is giving serious consideration to running for President. Yet when Cavuto pushed to learn when Perry might make his final decision about the presidency, Perry stressed that he is in no rush to decide and has no timeframe.
Given the fact that Texas has created more jobs in the last decade than any other state, Cavuto wondered what’s the secret? Perry admitted:
“It’s really not a secret. It’s pretty simple. You keep those taxes low and the regulatory climate fair and balanced, predictable.”
Perry also highlighted his crackdown on frivolous lawsuits and his willingness to travel to other states to try and steal away companies. And even though he is aware that he might be more popular with conservatives outside of his state than within Texas, he still thinks his economic ideas can help save the nation since he warns “our country’s in trouble.”
