As President Trump continues to attack John McCain, Lindsey Graham is defending his friend and fellow senator for his decision not to support the latest push to repeal Obamacare.
Graham and Sen. Bill Cassidy participated in a CNN town hall last night in order to promote their joint bill to reform the health care system. During these proceedings, Jake Tapper informed Graham about how Trump was angrily tweeting about McCain and circulating a montage of the Arizona senator’s promises to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
When asked if the president’s tweet was “helpful,” Graham defended McCain’s call for bipartisanship and said he’s free to act as he sees fit.
“To any American who has a problem with John McCain’s vote, all I can tell you is John McCain was willing to die for this country, and he can vote any way he wants to, and it doesn’t matter to me.”
