Gregg Jarrett: ‘Deceptive and Misleading’ for Lanny Davis to Call Trump ‘Unindicted Co-Conspirator’
Gregg Jarrett joined the set of Fox & Friends to help give a sense of yesterday’s big news day to the very Trump-friendly co-hosts and viewership.
A quick reminder that in the space of roughly one hour yesterday, Michael Cohen (the former personal attorney for President Donald Trump) plead guilty to campaign finance violations and directly implicated the now sitting president. Oh, and former Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort was found guilty on eight counts of financial fraud.
To hear Jarrett talk, this is much ado about nothing. “The fact that a prosecutor in New York says this was a crime and under pressure, Michael Cohen agrees to that doesn’t make it so,” he proclaimed. When asked about a comment made by Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis that President Trump is an “unindicted co-consipirator,” Jarrett first dismissed him as “Hillary Clinton acolyte” before calling him a very fine lawyer before saying that the allegation was “deceptive and misleading,” without providing much evidence why.
Jarrett can currently boast that his book The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump sits atop the NY Times Bestseller list. There appears to be a sizeable audience for his full-throated defense of the White House amid the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and the subset of his readers and Fox & Friends viewers is likely quite large.
So Trump-supporting cable news viewers looking for salve to heal the wounds of yesterday’s tough news day found exactly what they were looking for on Fox News. And the world turns.
