Guest Shocks CNN Panel: Women Wouldn’t Object to Catcalling ‘If the Men Were Hot’

Steve Santagati, author of the MANual (it’s what you think) told CNN Saturday that the recent catcalling video produced by Hollaback to draw attention to the aggressive obstacle course women run every day was a “joke,” and that the outrage over it was an example of political correctness gone too far.

“I’m a guy and I know how you think,” Santagati said. “The bottom line is this, ladies: you would not care if all these guys were hot. They would be bolstering your self-esteem bolstering your ego. There’s nothing more than a woman loves to hear than how pretty she is.”

Comedian Amanda Seales was unimpressed. “You really should just be embracing and welcoming to the fact that women are saying, ‘Hey, we don’t like this,’ not arguing why we shouldn’t. If we say we don’t like it and we are demonstrating that, you as a man of honor should be discussing how we can make you more comfortable.”

“No,” Santagati said, “that’s not going to happen.” He then said if women really felt threatened they should “carry a gun,” which is when he lost CNN host Fredericka Whitfield.
