Taking over as host for The O’Reilly Factor for the night, Greg Gutfeld used his platform to beg the media to do one thing: please, please, please stop reporting on every teeny little dribble of ebola-related news.
Gutfeld began his segment with the story of a man being escorted off a plane by men in hazmat uniforms after he joked about having ebola. “What a metaphor for the media: a sweaty entity that knows fear get eyeballs,” he noted, adding that nobody in the media had been covering actual diseases that kill people in large amounts, like rotavirus.
“Disease is spread by many things, but hysteria is every bit as contagious,” Gutfeld added, before turning to two guests, one of whom was also rather panicky about the situation.
