Hannity Guest Brent Bozell Disses Mika: ‘Should Be Very Careful Using Terms Like… Stupid’
The current seemingly interminable debt crisis debate seems to have brought out some of the worst in members of Congress. As coverage of the frustrating debates continues, it appears to be doing the same to those covering it. Mocking her commentary today calling the Republican strategy on this matter “stupid and mean,” the Media Research Center’s Brent Bozell did little to hide his scorn for Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski, warning that she should “be very careful using terms like ‘no-brainer’ and ‘stupid.'”
The barb came courtesy of Hannity, where host Sean Hannity played a clip of an outraged Brzezinski from this morning as an example of the escalation in insulting language from the left. “Stupid and mean,” he repeated after the clip, a phrase Brzezinski had used to describe Republicans. She argued that “this is a no-brainer of a deal” and that Republicans would lose because “they look mean and they look difficult.” Bozell took issue with this, and snickered at Brzezinki’s choice of words. “Mika should be very careful about using terms like ‘no-brainer’ and ‘stupid’ when she’s doing this kind of analysis,” he laughed. As that joke suggested, he proceeded to attack Brzezinski on grounds of ignorance: “if she just knew a little bit about these grand bargains,” he lamented, she would realize that Democrats “always succeed in raising taxes and increasing spending” when Republicans agree to a spending cut coupled with a tax hike.
