CNN Commentator Angela Rye faced off against Trump booster — and prospective Senate candidate — Harlan Hill today, so naturally, there were plenty of fireworks.
The two were on with Ana Cabrera for a panel debate about how President Trump denounced the Russian-election interference investigation during his West Virginia rally last night. As part of the discussion, Rye said Trump is free to think that the investigation undercuts his election win, but it is important to examine how Russia meddled with the nation’s politics.
Hill reacted by talking about how “the Democratic Party has become totally irrelevant” with their focus on Russia, and the discussion promptly went off the rails from there. Hill eventually came up with a really strange metaphor about how the media coverage following Hillary Clinton‘s defeat was comparable to when Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared three years ago.
Rye was confused by all of this by the time she was offered a chance to speak again, and Hill seized the moment to taunt her with “you have no substance, push back on me.” Rye referred to the points she made earlier in the segment, though Hill continued to make snide comments about her argument.
