Harris Faulkner: ‘Ironic’ Obama is Remarking on Trump Op-Ed Since He ‘Went After His Enemies’
Moments after Barack Obama concluded his speech Friday in which he bemoaned the current political state of affairs, Harris Faulkner bashed the former president for condemning Donald Trump over his regular attacks on his enemies.
In a segment on Outnumbered: Overtime, Faulkner spoke to White House senior communications adviser Mercedes Schlapp — who rebuked the scathing speech Obama delivered about his presidential successor. Eventually, they turned their attention to Trump’s new comments about having Jeff Sessions launch a DOJ investigation to unmask the mysterious administrative official who penned the New York Times‘ unflattering op-ed about the president.
Schlapp blasted the piece while talking about how “disturbing” it is having unelected figures in the government working against the president. Faulkner jumped on that point to note that Obama “went after his enemies,” likely referring to the Justice Department’s aggressive scrutiny of Fox News reporter James Rosen.
“It’s ironic that we are hearing from Barack Obama because he’s one of those who went after his enemies and there were prosecutions and he went after those people who were talking in whispers and working against him.”
