Either he’s sincerely defying conventional wisdom or he’s just trolling, but Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid had words of praise for Ted Cruz today as he criticized Marco Rubio.
Reid said that as much as he doesn’t like much of what Cruz stands for, “I have some degree of respect for him because he believes in something. He has a set of values.”
Even on the government shutdown, Reid said he “really hurt the country… but at least he set out doing what he said he would do.
He was far less kind to Rubio:
“He’s an opportunist first class… Here is a man who is part of a group of senators, a very, very small group of senators, who came up with something important for the country: comprehensive immigration reform. He was a part of it. He helped us pass it here in the Senate. And then he walks away from it.”
Reid even lumped Rubio in with Donald Trump because they give “the same speeches on walls and everybody else that Trump denigrates.”
