Al Roker was brought on for a discussion about Ryan Lochte‘s troubles yesterday, and he made it perfectly clear that he’s had enough of the swimmer’s sh*t.
The U.S. gold-medal swimmer has been embroiled in controversy after evidence and questions from Brazilian police have poked holes in his account of getting robbed at gunpoint in Rio De Janeiro. Before Lochte spoke about the ongoing snafu to NBC on Saturday night, Roker was asked for his thoughts on the snafu, and he left all his cards on the table.
“He lied to you, he lied to Matt Lauer, he lied to his mom,” Roker said. “He left his teammates hanging while he skedaddled. There was no robbery, there was no pull over. He lied.”
Lochte issued a statement on the controversy on Friday, but while he said he should’ve been more responsible, he didn’t explicitly offer an apology. Anchors Billy Bush and Natalie Morales tried to defend Lochte and bring up his side of the story, but Roker wasn’t having any of it as he railed against Lochte even further.
Cafe.com took note of the heated exchange, and they put together a hilariously-edited, sound effects-filled supercut that’s been making waves across Twitter.
