Heartwarming: Firefighter Breathes Life Into Kitten Found In Burnt-Out House (UPDATED)

A firefighter in California is being showered with praise this week after he successfully resuscitated a kitten he discovered unconscious on the floor of a California home that had been partially gutted by fire. The heartwarming video, captured on the firefighter’s helmet camera, shows how the first responder reacted quickly and save the life of the baby cat.

CBS 47 in Fresno, California, reported the amazing story last week. It showed a firefighter discovering a kitten lifeless on the floor of a house ravaged by fire.

The firefighter, identified as Cory Kalanick, takes the kitten outside where he administered oxygen and cold water. Eventually, he resuscitates the incapacitated kitty.

UPDATE: Sadly the story did not have a happy ending. The cat ultimately passed away from lung damage due to smoke inhalation.
