Hey Andrea Mitchell, Here Are Some Americans Killed by Our ‘Ally’ Iran Before 2002

On Tuesday, NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent and MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell offered her… unique perspective on America’s relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

While discussing the most impactful States of the Union addresses in recent decades, she bestowed the honor of most important on George W. Bush’s 2002 address. It was, however, a dubious distinction because that famous speech in which Bush coined the term “Axis of Evil,” Mitchell said, alienated our “ally” in Iran and paved the way for rocky relations even to this day.

Oddly, none of Mitchell’s guests disagreed with this obviously flawed assertion – one that an elementary school student with a cursory knowledge of modern American history would recognize inaccurate. Since there was no dissent on MSNBC on Tuesday, we’re picking up the slack. Here are a few incidents in which our “ally,” Iran, was implicated which resulted in threats to American interests or the deaths of American citizens.
