During a Wednesday night interview on Anderson Cooper: 360, Hillary Clinton opened up about an awkward encounter she had with then-Congressman, now-Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke.
On the subject of people who have said terrible things about her but were pleasant to her in person, Anderson Cooper invoked a passage in her book What Happened noting that Zinke called Clinton the “anti-Christ” back in 2014.
At a luncheon, Zinke approached Clinton with his wife.
“I had never met him before, he’s now our Interior Secretary,” she said with a smile. “He could not have been nicer… and I said ‘Well you know Congressman, I’m not the anti-Christ’ and he completely backpedaled and he was like, ‘Oh my goodness’ and his wife could not have been any nicer.”
She called the “hyper-partisanship” and “negativity” in the current political climate a “real loss.”
