Hillary Clinton: Trump Is Part of the Saudi Arabia’s ‘Coverup’ of Jamal Khashoggi Murder

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton accused Donald Trump of being “part of” Saudi Arabia’s “coverup” in the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, referencing the president’s on-and-off defense of the gulf state regime since the disappearance.

“We have a president who is part of the coverup as to what happened in that consulate or embassy when Mr. Khashoggi was murdered,” Clinton yesterday during an interview in Toronto with the Canadian CTV. “And we have a president and those closest to him who have their own personal commercial interests.”

Clinton’s comments came during her first stop in a multi-city speaking tour.

Last week, Trump suggested that his motivation in the Khashoggi case isn’t justice, but ensuring the price of oil remains low.

“If you want to see oil prices go to $150 a barrel,” the president said. “All you have to do is break up our relationship with Saudi Arabia.”

However, he has also said he hates “the crime” and “coverup,” but added the “crown prince hates it more than I do,” even though the CIA has no declared Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of Khashoggi, who was a political dissident.
