Hillary: White People Need to ‘Start Listening to Legitimate Cries’ About Police Shootings
Hillary Clinton appeared on CNN this afternoon to react to the shootings of two black men and multiple police officers in Dallas yesterday, and she made multiple pleas for Americans to come together.
Wolf Blitzer asked her if she agrees with the governor of Minnesota that Philando Castile would not have died if he was white. Clinton hesitated and said she wants to focus on dealing with how traffic stops and minor arrests “escalate into killings.”
Blitzer asked her why she feels she would be better at healing the racial divide than Donald Trump would be.
Clinton said she “will call for white people like myself to put ourselves in the shoes” of black families, and said that all while people need to “start listening to legitimate cries” that something is wrong after black men are shot and killed.
