Hoda Kotb Named as Savannah Guthrie’s Co-Anchor for NBC’s TODAY

Hoda Kotb has been declared as Savannah Guthrie‘s co-host on NBC’s TODAY.

Earlier this morning, NBC chairman Andy Lack sent out a company memo to announce that Kotb is getting a promotion.

The decision means that Kotb will anchor the first two hours of the morning show, though she will still hold down the fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford.

Kotb has seen an increased presence on TODAY ever since Matt Lauer was fired over his sexual misconduct scandal several weeks ago. She appeared at the anchor’s desk today, where she and Guthrie shared their joy over the news.

“There’s no one I’d rather be sitting next to in 2018 than you,” Kotb said.

Guthrie also celebrated by posting this happy selfie on Twitter:
