‘How Good Are The Cookies There?’ Morning Show Reporter Pulls A Ron Burgundy

The hosts of the Australian version of the Today Show seem to be having a bit more fun than their American counterparts. For no other reason besides the apparent fact that he found it hilarious, Australia’s Today Show host Karl Stefanovic slipped an extra line into correspondent Roz Kelly‘s teleprompter.

At the end of a routine report on London soccer team Chelsea’s win at the Europa Cup in Amsterdam, Kelly added, without thinking, “How good are the cookies there?” Realizing she had been duped, as Stefanovic and the other hosts on set devolved into laughter, the reporter remarked that she will read anything put in front of her.

“This is like Anchorman,” she added, referring to the classic scene in which Will Ferrell‘s Ron Burgundy accidentally reads, “Go fuck yourself, San Diego.” Kelly’s added line was decidedly less controversial.
