Howard Fineman on Priebus Ouster: ‘This Was Executed Gangland Style’

On MSNBC’s The Beat tonight, Howard Fineman said he thinks the ouster of Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff was carried out “gangland style.”

Ari Melber brought up how much President Trump praised Priebus on election night and asked, “What happened?”

Fineman said he doesn’t think that Priebus truly ever recovered after he reportedly suggested Trump should drop out of the race after that Access Hollywood tape came out. Fineman continued, “He was on borrowed time from the moment he became Chief of Staff.”

And then he said this about the way in which Priebus was ousted:

“I know the word is out today supposedly that Reince Priebus knew all about this yesterday and they were going through the motions. I don’t buy it for a second. I think this was executed gangland style.”

He walked through the chain of events today that led to the big announcement, calling it a “humiliation.”
