Howard Kurtz Hits CNN’s Don Lemon For Tying Roseanne’s Racist Tweet to Trump: This Has Nothing to Do With Him!

The Ingraham Angle weighed in on ABC’s cancellation of their hit show Roseanne.

Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a Fox News contributor, agreed with Valerie Jarrett that the controversy surrounding Roseanne Barr‘s tweet is a “teachable moment,” especially about how people aren’t cautious enough with their social media activity. She thought ABC responded “appropriately.”

Laura Ingraham then pointed out how there was “redemption” for Joy Behar after she mocked Christians earlier this year and not for others and invoked this awkward exchange between MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell and Joy Reid, who had made homophobic remarks on her old blog she claimed was hacked, calling it “ironic.”

Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz noted how many commentators and comedians have “survived” in the wake of offensive comments after they apologize, but Roseanne’s racist tweet will be “hard to come back from.”

“I mean, this was a spectacular self immolation by Roseanne, who woke up this morning with the most popular show and within nanoseconds it seems ABC pulling the plug, which is gonna cost ABC a lot of money by the way,” Kurtz said. “And Roseanne should have been on top of the world and instead she continues to spew anger on Twitter.”

Kurtz insisted that ABC “knew exactly what they were getting” when they decided to bring back Roseanne, who he mentioned was “spreading conspiracy theories” for many years and that they can’t claim to be “blindsided” by her tweets. But then he also took shot’s at CNN’s Don Lemon and MSNBC for tying Roseanne’s racist tweet to President Trump.

“I was just waiting, I was counting down––CNN’s Don Lemon, ‘Roseanne and President Trump are trafficking in racism,’ MSNBC bringing it in… Although he liked Roseanne and he called Roseanne after the successful debut, this has nothing to to do with Donald Trump!” Kurtz exclaimed. “The mainstream media have to turn every negative controversy into a Trump story.”
