Howard Kurtz to Spicer: Don’t Trump’s Attacks on the Press Contribute to the ‘Hostile Relations’?

Sean Spicer very briefly today conceded that President Trump‘s attacks on the press are contributing to the hostile relations between the White House and the press.

Howard Kurtz––who has a book coming out literally called Media Madness––contended that the anti-Trump bias in the press isn’t just about ideology, but about something cultural from Trump that just gets under their skin.

Spicer agreed and said of course the media has a liberal bias, despite how much people might “whine” and “moan” over that characterization.

Now, that being said, Kurtz also asked, “Does President Trump contribute to the hostile relations with his attacks on fake news and individual journalists?”

“I think so,” Spicer said, “but I also think he has a right to call out when a story is false or a narrative is misleading.”
