Former Fox News host and potential 2016 candidate Mike Huckabee, having found himself in the middle of a mini-scandal over his comments about Beyoncé and the First Family, now thinks the media’s making too big a deal out of it, which just exemplifies his initial point.
“It was an illustration in a chapter in the book called ‘The Culture of Crude,'” Huckabee told Morning Joe on Tuesday. “Somebody picked it up. Of all the things in the book I thought was going to be controversial that wasn’t it.”
“But it’s not something that I would be afraid to talk about,” he added. “In fact, the reaction to it within the land of what I call ‘Bubbleville’ validates my point.”
If you believe Huckabee didn’t think remarks about Beyoncé and the First Family wouldn’t get picked up, or that he didn’t want them to get get picked up catapult him back into the mainstream discussion, then I have so many timeshares to sell you.
