I Am Cait Cancelled After Two Years

After two seasons, I Am Cait has been cancelled. Caitlyn Jenner herself announced that the show would not be returning for another season on Twitter today:

According to Variety, an E! spokesperson said in a statement:

We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of ‘I Am Cait,’ a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs. Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time.  She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Though the show’s ratings slipped after the first few episodes, it told the important story of Jenner’s transition and was loved by the transgender community. This year, it won the award for Outstanding Reality Program at the GLAAD Media Awards.

Of course, though the show won’t be returning we haven’t seen the last of her. Between Keeping Up With The Kardashians and its seemingly endless collection of spinoffs, Jenner will be on all of our screens for a long, long time.
