‘I Can’t Mess This Up for Him’: Adele Stops, Re-Starts George Michael Tribute Performance
During her tribute to George Michael at the Grammy Awards, Adele suddenly stopped singing his song “Fast Love.”
“I know it’s live TV, I’m so f*cking sorry. I can’t do it again like last year,” she said, referencing some audio issues with her performance at last year’s show. “I’m sorry for swearing, and I’m sorry for starting again, can we please start it again? I can’t mess this up for him,” she continued.
The audience cheered her on. One person screamed, “You got it!” The band started again, and the rest of her performance went off without a hitch.
