CNN’s Anderson Cooper tonight did a segment calling out Donald Trump for flip-flopping on issues like Afghanistan. After airing the segment, Cooper spoke with Trump campaign co-chair and adviser Sam Clovis, who immediately objected to the tone of the segment.
Cooper brought up how Trump has flip-flopped on Afghanistan and other things, as well as making claims that President Obama wants to confiscate people’s guns.
When Cooper asked Clovis about the flip-flopping, he said, “I thought we were gonna have a discussion on policy tonight, and I’m sorry this is where this is heading.”
Cooper told him this is policy he’s talking about, but Clovis still objected:
“I don’t appreciate this at all. I didn’t have any indication that this was where we were gonna be going with this. I thought we were gonna be talking about policy and where we are in the campaign and our polling… If these are the issues you want to bring up, that’s fine, and I’ll let the other commentators comment on it.”
