‘If I Was Betting’: Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro Thinks Trump Associates Will Be Jailed Over Russia

A Democratic member of the House Intelligence Committee believes that associates of President Donald Trump will wind up serving prison time as a result of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Appearing on CNN Tuesday, Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX) was asked by host Wolf Blitzer whether he’s seen any “hard evidence of collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia.

“Well, I guess I would say this,” Castro said. “My impression is, after all of this is said and done, some people end up in jail.”

Blitzer pressed him on the subject and Castro said he couldn’t comment further, reinforcing that “if I was betting,” he believes it would likely happen. Blitzer asked if Castro had already seen evidence that in his capacity as House Intelligence Committee member would justify someone going to jail.

“If the claims hold up, most likely,” Castro said.
