Ingraham: Samantha Power’s Daniel Pearl Tweet Reflects View that USA Should Be ‘On Her Knees’

United Nations Amb. Samantha Power confused many foreign policy observers when she issued a series of tweets about the murdered journalist Daniel Pearl. “Daniel Pearl’s story is reminder that individual accountability & reconciliation are required to break cycles of violence,” Power wrote of the journalist who was beheaded by Khalid Shake Mohamed. (She later issued a correction.)

On Monday, conservative radio host Laura Ingraham said that Power’s original sentiments were more reflective of her worldview.

“Remember, Power comes from a long line of left wing activists who believe that America is really the problem in the world,” Ingraham insisted. “Her whole approach to foreign policy has been America, frankly, on her knees asking for forgiveness is a better America.”

“Her view is that America’s past is so dark and so dismal that we have an enormous amount to account for on the world stage,” she added. “And the president appointed her because that’s what he thought.”

“The tweet was an outrage but her comments going back decades are even more outrageous,” Ingraham concluded.
