Following President Barack Obama’s farewell address, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and Bret Baier provided some reaction, and for the most part, were largely complimentary of it.
Both hosts noted that there could be real debate over whether he achieved some of the policy goals he laid out on the speech. However, as far as oratory skills go, the president delivered.
“It was a soaring speech,” Carlson said. “And he used the word organizer at least three times, maybe more than that. To me, that sounded like a harbinger of what’s coming. That he’s trying to inspire those who share his worldview.”
The two also compared Obama and President-elect Donald Trump’s speaking styles, saying you couldn’t find two more different speakers. Baier explained that Obama used sometimes flowery language and soaring rhetoric, while Trump’s style is “more practical.”
At the end of their analysis, Carlson handed the broadcast off to Sean Hannity, and in a total light and day moment, Hannity bellowed that that the “Obama nightmare is finally coming to an end.”
