‘It Was a Tremendous Day!’ Trump Speaks Out on His Saudi Arabia Trip
— CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) May 20, 2017
On the first full day of his multi-stop overseas trip, President Donald Trump met with Saudi royalty. Besides bowing down to Saudi King Salman to receive the country’s highest civilian honor, the president signed an arms deal with Saudi Arabia worth up to $350 billion over a decade.
Following the signing, Trump briefly appeared in front of reporters for some photos and delivered a few comments, though didn’t answer questions.
“It was a tremendous day,” he noted. “Tremendous investments in the United States. Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs!”
And that was that.
While the president engages in his first foreign trip, his administration is embroiled it controversy back home. Having already seen the appointment of a special counsel in the Russia probe, news broke right after he took off yesterday that he had called recently fired FBI Director James Comey a “nut job” to Russian officials while telling them it took pressure off the Russia investigation. It was also reported that a senior White House official is a “person of interest” in the probe.
