‘It Was Painful to Watch’: CNN’s Dana Bash Hammers Intel Chiefs for ‘Stonewalling’ During Hearing
Following today’s Senate Intelligence hearing featuring a number of intelligence agency chiefs, it was time for cable news pundit reactions. And CNN’s Dana Bash took aim at the intel heads for refusing to answer many of the questions from the senators, causing quite a bit of frustration among the intel committee’s panel.
Regarding comments from NSA Director Mike Rogers and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats saying they never felt pressured by the president to intervene in an investigation, but also not answering if those conversations ever came up with POTUS, Bash noted they were blocking and delaying.
“If it never happened, you bet they would have said it never happened,” she exclaimed. “This was stonewalling. There’s no other way to say it. They were stonewalling.”
Bash went on to point out that much of what they were dismissing wasn’t classified or intelligence information and only potentially privileged info if the White House wanted to go there.
“It seemed like it was unnecessarily chaotic and uncomfortable and awkward,” she said, adding that “it was painful to watch them.”
