Ivanka, Eric Trump Explain Why They Aren’t Registered to Vote for Their Dad
A few days ago it was reported that neither Eric Trump nor Ivanka Trump would be able to vote for their father in the New York primary. It was particularly awkward given the fact that Ivanka was featured in campaign videos helping other people register to vote.
Anderson Cooper asked both of them about it tonight during CNN’s Trump family town hall. Ivanka explained she’s an independent and “New York has one of the most onerous rules in terms of registration.”
She said the two of them had been informed they had to register “a long time ago” and that’s why she wanted to make those videos educating others.
Eric explained it was their first foray into politics and they didn’t quite realize how the system worked, but overall it’s been “a great educational process” for them.
Aside from Ivanka, Trump’s children all identified themselves as Republicans.
