Jake Tapper Mocks Trump-Omarosa Feud: ‘If Only There Had Been Some Warning’ She Was Untrustworthy

CNN’s Jake Tapper sarcastically ridiculed President Donald Trump on Monday over the escalating feud between himself and Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Tapper kicked off The Lead by reviewing Manigault Newman’s media tour, the revelations from her secret White House recordings, and her tease of more tapes down the line. Since Trumpworld is condemning Manigault Newman’s negative comments about the president with full force, Tapper is reminding people that Trump was the one who spent years building up his former Apprentice reality show protege.

“The president’s character assassination of a former senior White House official begs the question: if she’s so horrific, what was she doing in the White House in the first place?” Tapper asked.

Tapper moved on by referencing a “senior White House official” who trashed Manigault Newman on multiple occasions, but told CNN that Trump wanted her to stay on board because she “only said great things about the president.” Who was this mysterious source? Trump himself.

“Her flattery was apparently so important to the president he wanted her to stay despite everything else,” Tapper said. “If only there had been some warning that Omarosa was not trustworthy and ultimately would be fired in a disturbing spectacle. If only some clue of this coming.”
