CNN’s Jake Tapper took a moment during The Lead today to address the “real news” Team Trump wants to bring to the American people.
The President tweeted about “fake news” yet again today, and Tapper said, “Almost every single time he’s used that term, the news has been accurate. It’s just been news he doesn’t like.”
He went through a brief history of Trump’s fake news claims before getting around to the resurgence of Kayleigh McEnany––formerly of CNN––on what is being dubbed “Trump TV.”
She is now sharing the “real news” with the American people, but Tapper reacted with this:
“Empirically, there’s nothing journalistic about a political organization that exists to support a politician cheering on that politician. It’s not real, and it’s not news, and it’s definitely not real news.”
