Jake Tapper on Trump’s Anti-CNN Tweets: His Vote Claims Have ‘No Basis in Reality’

CNN’s Jake Tapper today reacted to Donald Trump‘s string of anti-CNN tweets and retweets last night over a report on his claims of “millions” of illegal votes.

Tapper said CNN and other media outlets are just doing their jobs by saying this has “no basis in reality,” pointing out, “Not one credible official or news organization has suggested the president-elect’s conspiracy theory of millions of fraudulent votes has any merit.”

And Trump, he continued, is going after reporters “who are simply trying to convey these facts to you.”

Tapper brought up Trump’s tweets and Jeff Zeleny asking for examples, given that “no evidence actually exists to verify those claims.”
