Jake Tapper: Trump ‘Doesn’t Seem to Understand That the Biggest Purveyor’ of Fake News ‘Is Him’

After opening his show by showing President Trump a pocket Constitution, Jake Tapper dove into the President’s attacks on the press with his panel this afternoon.

Trump today suggested he would look at taking away NBC’s “license.” Mary Katharine Ham said, “That’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works.”

Tapper remarked upon what if Barack Obama had said something similar about Fox News. Kirsten Powers––who used to be at Fox––said, “The world would explode.”

Earlier today, the President said that it’s “frankly disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write, and people should look into it.”

Tapper pointed out that just today, the President made a false claim on Twitter, and he said, “He doesn’t seem to understand that the biggest purveyor of false news, fake news, is him.”
